NRCHA Welcomes Taylor Todd as Membership and Affiliate Shows Manager

The National Reined Cow Horse Association welcomed Taylor Todd as the Membership and Affiliate Show Manager in June. Todd, who hails from Rexford, Kansas, will be the first point of contact for members contacting the association’s headquarters in Pilot Point, Texas.

In her position, she’ll coordinate membership applications, renewals and work with NRCHA affiliates to submit horse show information. Having shown in the Colorado Reined Cowhorse Association, Todd understands NRCHA member needs from the grassroots level.

“I was raised in northwest Kansas on my family’s farm and ranch where I discovered my passion for horses,” said Todd. “When I was 12 we found out there was a horse trainer that lived pretty close to us, EJ Laubscher, so we figured we would give reined cow horse a try for fun! How it all started was with a little reining Paint horse named ‘Jerry.’  That horse definitely taught me the ropes, even though he was not cowy at all! Over the years showing in the Colorado Reined Cowhorse Association, I built my passion for the industry and grew really amazing relationships within the association.”

In 2020, Todd graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor degree in agricultural communications and journalism with an emphasis in equine science. At the university, Todd was a member of the equestrian team and also the horse judging team.

Previously she worked at as a customer service representative and public relations coordinator at Peoples State Bank in Manhattan, Kansas, and also as a breeding assistant at Brazos Valley Stallion Station in Stephenville, Texas.

“Reined cow horse has taught me so much over the years, and I am so grateful for the life lessons, longtime friendships, and opportunities I’ve had within the industry. My passion for the sport of reined cow horse is what pushed me to pursue this position,” she said. “I was thrilled for the opportunity to work for an association that has given me so much. I am excited to help our members and assist in promoting the association to potential new members, as well. I’m also very excited to work alongside a great group that is as passionate about the industry and the Western way of life as I am.”

Todd rounds out the team of staff focused on coordinating the five premier events for NRCHA members across the country, and growing an enthusiastic member and fan base into impassioned reined cow horse competitors. NRCHA Executive Director Anna Morrison said she is excited to see the current growth in entries at shows.

“As our association continues to experience exponential growth in membership and entries, the position of Membership and Affiliate Shows Manager has become even more important,” Morrison said. “Our team was confident that Taylor was the right person to support our members, and we’re excited to see how she will grow the role, expand the impact of NRCHA, and serve an ever-growing membership.”

The NRCHA is based in Pilot Point, Texas, but serves a nation-wide and international membership base. Five premier events are annually produced by the association and affiliate associations conduct reined cow horse events regularly around the world.
