NRCHA Welcomes Callie McCarthy-Boevers as Media & Communications Manager
The National Reined Cow Horse Association welcomed Callie McCarthy-Boevers to the staff as media and communications manager in late February. Rounding out a team that excels at putting the focus of the association on members and positive growth, McCarthy-Boevers brings a wealth of experience in print and online media, sponsor relations and brand development to the role.
A graduate of Oklahoma State University, McCarthy-Boevers, 27, focused on agriculture communications and animal science. Following graduation she worked for longtime Western brand National Saddlery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, as marketing director. In 2018, she moved into a role as marketing specialist with the National Cutting Horse Association, then was promoted to manager of marketing and communications. Her work was recognized in by Cowgirl magazine in 2022 and she was named one of the “30 Under 30” women to watch in the equine industry.
McCarthy-Boevers takes the reins of NRCHA communications ahead of the March 24 through April 2 Teton Ridge Stallion Stakes in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is transitioning from a position with NCHA but comes to NRCHA with a lifetime of reined cow horse knowledge.
“Joining a team that understands the wealth of history this association has and sees the future of where it can grow to is the thing that excites me the most,” she said. “I attended my first Snaffle Bit Futurity® at 5 months old and I have always had a love for the reined cow horse. I am eager to begin sharing the stories of our members and cultivating the NRCHA brand, which is unique in the performance horse industry.”
McCarthy-Boevers plans to take her training in graphic design, experience developing strategic marketing plans and showcase reined cow horse to potential new members and reinvigorate love of the sport in long time riders. She will work out of the NRCHA headquarters office in Pilot Point, Texas.
“Callie’s knowledge, energy and excitement for reined cow horse position her well to continue the positive path NRCHA communications are on,” said Anna Morrison, NRCHA executive director. “To add a team member who has already achieved significant accolades early in her career to the efforts of Kate Byars, who will continue her excellent work with our award-winning publication, is a huge win for the association.”
