NRCHA Celebrates Finalist Recognition for Media at American Horse Publications Conference
The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) is gearing up to attend the American Horse Publications annual conference and Equine Media Awards May 12 through 14 in Lexington, Kentucky, where the association is up for three awards. The American Horse Publications Equine Media Awards recognize excellence in print, digital and video media, with entry categories ranging from advertisements to magazines to podcasts and the members include businesses, all major performance horse associations and individual media outlets.
In 2021, the NRCHA produced advertisement “We’ll Save You A Seat,” designed by Executive Director Anna Morrison, Kate Bradley Byars and graphic designer Jeanette Dickens, is a finalist for Equine-Related Single Advertisement Design. Two videos produced with Nathan Bouley of Snowy Road Media are finalists in their categories: the 2021 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity® opener featuring NRCHA Hall of Fame member Bobby Ingersoll and the video commemorating Shining Spark’s 17 years as the NRCHA All-Time Leading Sire. All videos are available to view on the NRCHA’s Vimeo page.
“Working with creative partners like Jeanette and Nathan allows us to produce top-of-the-line media across all platforms that shows the excitement and the thrill of reined cow horse competition,” said Callie Boevers, NRCHA media and communications manager. “To be a finalist in this contest, shows the NRCHA’s messages about family, community and love of the reined cow horse is reaching across the equine industry.”
The NRCHA produces five premier events annually, beginning with the Kalpowar Quarter Horses Celebration of Champions in February in Fort Worth, Texas, where NRCHA members qualify to compete in the World Championship Show, and the Tres Osos Cow Horse Derby and Western Bloodstock and Hashtags World’s Greatest Horseman are held. In March, the Teton Ridge Stallion Stakes is held in Las Vegas, and in June, the DT Horses Western Derby includes the CD Survivor Memorial Spectacular in Scottsdale, Arizona. The third annual Dom Conicelli Memorial Eastern Derby presented by MARS EquestrianÔ —the first premier event held east of the Mississippi River—will return to Cordova, Tennessee, July 8 through 17. The cornerstone event for 3-year-old reined cow horses, the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity® presented by Metallic Cat, will be held October 6 through 22 in Fort Worth, Texas, and include the Hackamore Classic presented by Oswood Stallion Station.
