Frequently Asked Questions
Why did NRCHA choose to implement the new entry process for the 2025 Stallions Stakes?
We have over 750 horses nominated into the Incentive program and eligible to compete at the 2025 Stallion Stakes limited-aged event. That is over double the amount of horses we typically see in the Open limited-aged event. With the increased numbers, we want to ensure that our schedule accommodates the magnitude of this year’s event.
In order to accommodate the potential for increased entries for scheduling purposes and stall counts we need to know the number of horses participating in the limited-aged event classes well in advance of our normal entry deadline.
Is the $500 deposit required for Horse Show entries?
No, the deposit is required for the limited-aged event entries only.
Is the $500 deposit in addition to my entry fee?
No, the deposit will go towards your entry and will be reflected at the time of checkout.
What happens if I sell my horse between now and the Stallion Stakes?
Just like the slot entries at the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity® the deposit will follow the horse. The buyer (or responsible party at time of full entry) will have the $500 entry credit applied to their show bill.
Is my entry for Stallion Stakes done once I pay the $500 entry deposit?
This deposit notifies the office that you plan on attending the 2025 event and compete in the limited-aged event. You will still be required to complete the full entry process to provide ride, responsible party, etc. when entries open in CowHorse+.
What if I don’t pay the deposit by January 29?
If you don’t pay your deposit by the deadline, your entry for the limited-aged event will be considered late and will be subject to late fees.
Can I get a refund on my deposit?
We will be releasing the Stallion Stakes schedule early February. If the posted show schedule impacts your ability to bring horses as planned, we will offer a refund of the $500 deposit for up to 5 business days after the show schedule is posted. Refund requests must be submitted via email to entries@nrcha.com before the deadline.
Can I change out my horse once the deposit is paid?
You can change the “deposit” from one horse to another (without changing your total number of horses that you made the deposit for). Changes must be sent via email to entries@nrcha.com before the draw.
