Jackpots, prizes and the prospect to write your name in history are reasons to enter the inaugural Zoetis AQHA Cattle Novice Championship Show.

American Quarter Horse Association, March 5, 2014 -‐-‐ Money is on the line for competitors at the 2014 Zoetis AQHA Cattle Novice Championship Show, slated for April 17-‐19 at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City.

Every class at the Zoetis Cattle Novice Championship, with the exception of performance halter, will feature a jackpot option. This is an amazing chance for Level 1-‐eligible competitors to earn money, haul home great prizes and tout the prestigious title of the first Novice champion in their event.

“Gather your friends for not just a shot at glory, but a chance to earn money back,” said AQHA Executive Director of Shows Patti Carter. “Come team rope, ranch sort, team pen and more! As long as you are eligible for Level 1, you can enter.”

Determining level eligibility is easy – just use the online verification system at

Based on exhibitor feedback, AQHA extended the deadline for the Zoetis Cattle Novice Championship. Entries are now due March 21.

“The new entry deadline allows exhibitors enough time to get prepared for the show, and also for show management to properly plan an AQHA Novice championship-‐style show,” Carter added.

To ensure that the event is of AQHA-‐Novice-‐championship caliber, at least five entries will be needed in each class at the 2014 Zoetis Cattle Novice Championship. If a class has less than five entries by March 21, the class will be cancelled. Fees will be returned to exhibitors who entered cancelled classes.

Depending on the actual number of entries, the tentative schedule could be altered, with the show potentially encompassing just Friday, April 18, and Saturday, April 19.

“There’s still time to get your entries in for your shot at cash, prizes and a history-‐ making experience,” Carter said. “If you have friends or know of fellow competitors who were contemplating whether to attend the first Zoetis Cattle Novice Championship, give them that extra nudge to send their entries in.”
