Metallic Rebel Joins NRCHA Million Dollar Sire Club
The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) proudly announces that Metallic Rebel (Metallic Cat x Sweet Abra x Abrakadabracre), owned by Tim and Lisa Guinn, has surpassed one million dollars in offspring earnings.
A standout competitor himself, Metallic Rebel established his own prowess in the cutting pen. He was the 2017 National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Open Horse of the Year, is a member of the NCHA Horse Hall of Fame and is an NCHA World Champion. He accumulated $438,000 in NCHA lifetime earnings.
Metallic Rebel’s foray into the cow horse pen came recently, with his first NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity® entries saddling up in 2022. Just a year later, six of his offspring made the Open finals. Rebel With A Cause (out of Dainty Little Step) and Sarah Dawson placed eighth and Hip Hip Rebel Rey (out of Hip Hip Sue Rey) and Caley Wilson/Kelby Phillips finished 10th.
“He’s such an athlete,” shared Debbi Roberts of Spurs Equine Marketing, representing Metallic Rebel. “He has an amazing mind and is so cowy. We feel strongly that he’ll pass that on to these cow horses.”
Roberts shared that the Guinns have now dipped a toe into the cow horse arena with Reys Desired Rebel, by Metallic Rebel, in training with NRCHA professional Lance Johnston.
