The National Reined Cow Horse Association is pleased to announce Metallic Cat as the presenting sponsor of the 2019 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity®, held October 4 – 19 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Metallic Cat (High Brow Cat x Chers Shadow x Peptoboonsmal) is owned by the Rocking P Ranch, of Weatherford, Texas. Throughout the red roan stallion’s show career, he amassed $637,711 in lifetime earnings and several championship titles, including 2008 National Cutting Horse Association Open Futurity Champion and 2009 Breeder’s Invitational Open Derby Champion. Following an impressive career in the cutting pen the stallion, affectionately known as “Denver”, has gone on to become one of the industry’s most influential and successful sires.

Metallic Cat is a household name among the Western performance horse industry. Producing more than $26 million dollars in earners, it is easy to see why his offspring are desired by owners and riders of all disciplines. In 2018, Metallic Cat joined the NRCHA Million Dollar Sire club, and less the one year later, surpassed the $2 million dollar threshold. Some of his most noted reined cow horse offspring include Call Me Mitch (Metallic Cat x Miss Hickory Hill x Doc’s Hickory) and Cats Picasso (Metallic Cat x Playboys Vixen x Hickoryote).

Metallic Cat is a long-time sponsor of the NRCHA and supporter of the reined cow horse industry.

“I am honored to have Bobby Patton, owner of Rocking P Ranch and Metallic Cat, extend his support by becoming the presenting sponsor of our largest and most prestigious event. I believe Metallic Cat is a great sire and has largely impacted our industry in a positive way,” stated NRCHA Executive Director Jay Winborn. “I appreciate everything team Metallic Cat has done for the association and our owners and riders. I am excited for Metallic Cat to present the 50th NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity.”

Bobby Patton, a Fort Worth, Texas, native is most likely known for his ownership of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team. In 2015, Patton entered the Western performance horse world and has been growing his program ever since. Year after year, Patton and his team continue to invest in the highly thrilling sport loved by so many.

“The last few years have been an exciting adventure into the performance horse world. The athleticism and intelligence of these horses continue to amaze me on a daily basis,” said Patton. “Rocking P Ranch is thrilled to expand our relationship with the NRCHA. Being a part of the 50-year celebration of the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity is quite an honor for team Metallic Cat.”

For the third consecutive year, the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity will return to the iconic Will Rogers Memorial Center, located in the Cowtown capitol, with more excitement and added money than ever before. Between celebrating the 50th running NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity and substantial increase in Futurity entries, you won’t want to miss out on this historic event.

In addition to the highly-anticipated futurity, the Hackamore Classic is available to 4- and 5-year-old horses to show in all three phases of competition and a complete slate of NRCHA-approved horse show classes are offered, bringing the total added money to $722,300.

Riders from other disciplines are also invited to compete in the American Rope Horse Association Futurity and the American Quarter Horse Association Ranching Heritage Challenge. Ancillary events included the elite Snaffle Bit Futurity Horse Sales produced by Western Bloodstock, sponsor showcase and prestigious NRCHA Hall of Fame Banquet. New for 2019, the association will be offering two invitational events – one for the working ranch cowboy and the other for non professional cutting horse competitors.

A free, live webcast will be available everyday of the premier event. All days of the event are free of admission, with the exception of finals days. Tickets will be available for purchase closer to the start of the event.
